About you

In line with M47’s exciting growth, we are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer with a DevOps mindset to join our team. We are currently supporting one of the biggest players in the tech ecosystem in their efforts to build and improve their ML-led voice assistant software, used by millions world-wide. In this project you'll play a crucial role in building internal tools to support a large team of  over 100 multi-faceted professionals such as QAs and Software Developers, amongst others, having a direct impact in the enhancement and development of these tools to improve efficiency and productivity in a large organization.

About your day-to-day:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-availability backend systems and services.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of new features and optimize existing ones.
• Manage Cloud-based solutions and microservices architecture
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and best practices are upheld through code reviews and automated testing in CD/CI pipelines.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability
• Monitor, troubleshoot, identify, and resolve system bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to foster their growth and development.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, and evaluate new tools to enhance the development workflow.

What you'll need:

• 5+ years of relevant working experience as Backend Software Engineer, and at least 2 years working in Cloud environments (preferable GoogleCloud).
• Strong proficiency in Java. Python or Ruby are a plus.
• Proficient database management (SQL, NoSQL).
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Nagios, NewRelic or Datadog.
• Superb problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• BSc or MSc in Comptuer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.

What's nice to have:

• Experience with Systems Virtualization
• IaC
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  
• Understanding of technical feasibility of UI/UX desings
• Knowledge on cybersecurity
• Experience with ML frameworks for DevOps

For this position you must be a holder of a valid working permit for Spain (or EU passport) and be available to work full-time onsite.
